bh 5H by Jean Bolan Approximately twenty- four ladies attended a baby shower on Sunday afternoon in honour of Master Jamie Tennyson of Caesarea. Jamie arrived, to the delight of his mom and dad on June the 15th, but there were so many gifts awaiting his ar- rival that a shower was rather pointless, so it was postponed until a later date. It was a wise decision as that little fellow has certainly outgrown many of his tiny garments. He received many lovely gifts, among them a gorgeous crib from Grandma and Grandpa Tennyson, aunts Sue and Sandy. (That was presented a little early). A still very surprised Mom thanked all on Jamie's behalf. A most delectable luncheon was served by the hostesses, Elna Forsyth, Sue Fowler, Bernice Tennyson and Sandy Day. Eighteen people were in attendance at the Regatta Committee meeting in Pusey Park on Sunday, September 5. As it was previously decided to leave the majority of officials of the committee in" their current capacity, - this was done. The officers are as follows: President, Keith Prout. Vice President, Morgan Sears. 2nd Vice, Frank Comisso.. 3rd Vice, Tom Hollingsworth, = Secre- tary, Judy Marks, Assistant Sec. Alice Aomisso. Treas- urer, Bruce Lawrie. Finan- cial Sec., Len Prout. P.R.O., Bill Ringham. Sports Direc- tor, John Blair (who shall form a committee later). Sound Engineer, Albert Put- sey. Len Prout thanked Wally and Marg Smith for the tremendous amount of work they - undertake. to guarantee the success of the Regatta. It was decided that a day would be set aside to level soil etc. to form a area for volley ball. New horse shoe pits and many other Antique Show Thurs. and Fri. This Thursday and Friday will see a repeat of the very successful antique show held last year at Town Hall 1873. "We expect another suc- cessful event," said Mrs. Helen Calder of Prince Albert, one of the organizers of the show. The show will feature furn- iture, pottery, primitives, and pre-1925 glass and china, and Mrs. Calder said the qualities of entries is expect- ed to be very high. Organizers, with an eye to making the show an annual one, have demanded quality rather than quantity. The show is "vetted", or authen- ticated by experts to ensure that all items are of the time period indicated. "This is the only show of its kind in the area right now,' said Mrs. Calder. "'We hope to make it a worthwhile event." She said that dealers were anxious to attend the show. Jeoats St. Clair "We had no trouble getting people to take part," said Mrs. Calder, who described the Town Hall as an excell- ent place to hold such shows from a standpoint of atmos- phere as well as physical layout. "We had a lot of good comments last year, "she said. Co-operation mn Town Hall officials couldn't have been better last year, and the same experience is being felt this year. Not only does the show provide an excellent function for the town hall, and a show for local and area dealers, but it also helps to make local people aware of antiqu- es and antique collecting. One of the things that pleased organizers last year was the number of people who visited the show-not necessarily buying, but tak- ing enough interest to come out and take'a look. - PAINT & WALLPAPER The Paint & Paper People MIDTOWN MALL OSHAWA, ONTARIO ANALDA Garden Centre 576-2431 CHRYSANTHEMUMS For Fall Colour ® Evergreens ® Shrubs ® Fertilizers WINTERIZE YOUR LAWN WITH Cii WINTERIZER of WINTERIZER-WEEDER.
