Louvelle 241 Five day pheasant hunt opens on Scugog Island Saturday, September. 25 marks the opening of the 1976 pheasant hunting season throughout most of the Lind- say District of the Ontario Ministry of Natural Re- sources. The Blackstock associa- tion is eligible for a grant of $5,000 to purchase a training glider. Although the organiza- tion's. postal ~address is Blackstock, the club is based at a flying field in Omemee and Courtice. The club's president Elmor Ballint is from Blackstock. mencing on opening day, the 'Ministry of Natural Re- sources' controlled pheasant hunt will be operated on the northern tip of Scugog Island in Lake Scugog. The hunting area is stocked with hatch- ery-reared pheasant to pro- vide abundant game. A maximum of 45 hunters is permitted to hunt the 450 acre area at any given time. Upon checking in at the attendants' entrance gate, by presenting a valid hunt- ing licence, and by paying a $5.00 day hunting fee, sports- men may enjoy quality pheasant hunting in a fine setting. The controlled pheasant hunt is operated 5 days per week, Tuesday to Saturday inclusive. You can get to the hunting area by travelling east on Highway 7A from Port Perry, onto Scugog Is- land, and proceeding north on Durham Regional Road 7. The attendants' entrance gate is located at the north end of this road.
