The door prize went to George Livingstone and the most lone hands to Stella Gray. The next euchre will be on October 1st. Several local ladies attend- ed the Brooklin Horticulture meeting on Wednesday even- ing of last week. Mr. Gordon Wick told how to force bulbs for winter blooming indoors, also showed some slides of beautiful bulbs in bloom. Then the members all had a chance to plant their own terrariums. Also. a number of ladies attended the Craft Display at Knox Presbyterian Church, Oshawa, on Monday night of last week. . Loto-Luck selling well PY 4 [J continued is because most of the prizes will stay in the community. The generous odds (about one prize for every 10 tick- ets) is also a strong incen- tive. -- Funds from Loto-Luck are invested for future projects as well as to meet current expenses, another plus for the lottery. - The committee hopes that _ it will be able, to sell all 1,000 tickets before deadline on October 11. The 500 tickets for the April draw were sold out. As a result of that draw, it was decided to decrease the price to $5.00 and double the number of tickets sold. The expected proceeds will be the same, and the odds remain about the same, although some prizes will be smaller. Member, Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation The two draws this year will supply the Scout Hall, the Town Hall and the Museum with $1,000 each, and the trust fund will ount to about $2,035 by October 31. Because of the Loto-Luck assistance, the Scout Hall has been able to have a new furnace 'install- ed, and the Museum is gett- ing a new roof. According to Brock, the success of the second lottery will be thanks to a great increase in volunteer sales- men from the three groups and from the community as a whole.: Nearly 100 sales- men, individual and com- mercial are involved. Com- mittee members (Ray Munro for the Historical Society, Earl Stone for the Parents Association, Bill Brock for Town Hall 1872, and Irma Lewis, Sec. Treas) hope that those who have not yet purchased a ticket will do so before October 11 and that a good number will turn out to the draw at the Museum (3:00 p.m. on Thansgiving Day). 92% 9%2% 9%2% 10% 10%% it We are sorry Miss Lori! Also, told a childrens story *"The Lesson of the Two Pots'. The Jr. Choir sang 'Come Praise Alleluia'. Next Sunday, the sacra- ment 'of Holy Communion will be celebrated at the regular service time of 11:15. Our thought for the day is taken from last Sunday's sermon, we thought well worth thinking about for the whole week...If we hurt another person, we also damage ourselves.
