Saturday evening with a. capacity crowd in attendance. Mr. D.A. Mrs. Yvonne Christie, Chairman of the Board, was present to hand out the Honour Gradu- ation Diplomas and the Ontario Scholarship award. Mr. Gord Goode, the other local board trustee, express- ed greetings from the Dur- ham Bpard and administra- tion. During the programme . there were two presenta- tions to. the school, On behalf of the students, Paul Larmer, Students' Council President, presented Mr. Paisley, the Principal, with a picture symbolizing the co-operative effort, deter- mination and personal in- volvement at C.H.S. VanCamp family. .The rest of the programme 'included the awarding of Proficiency prizes, bursar- ies, Track and Field trophies, Curling, Chess and House Competition awards. The 'Bob. McLaughlin Memorial award for good sportsmanship and overall effort was presented this year to Bryan Sleep. One of the izplights of the programme was the valedictory address deliver- ed by Miss Wilma Wolters of Seneca College, Willow- dale. The second part of the programme included two selections, Time in a. Bottle and Climb Every Mountain, by the Glee Club under the capable direction of Mr. Ray Ashton and Janet Parsons as pianist. The annual banquet for the "honour graduates was held on Sunday," November 14 at- 1:30 p.m. in the Banquet Room of Emiel's restaurant, Port Perry. The Students' council hosted this banquet in honour of the grade thirteen gradu- ates, their parents, the high schoob staff and the two local trustees - Mrs. Yvonne Christie and Mr. Gord & Goode. i Paul Larmer, * Students' Council president, welcom- ed all the special guests and extended his congratula- tions and best wishes to the - graduates. JThe gathering was a very informal affair and included much pleasant reminiscing as each of the graduates, 'their parents, the teachers and the board members ex- changed humorous re- collections from the past five years.
