All our energy seems to be invested in snow blowing or shovelling the mounds of snow accumulating in our driveways. Snowmobile abandoned Reginald Mcintyre of RR 2, Port Perry was the luck- less person who last week became the first victim of a snowmobile thief in the Whitby OPP area. Victoria County . Clerk Clare McKay advised members of the county's fin- ance committee to hold off for the:time being on the proposed authority. Lindsay council recently recommended to the county that consideration be given to the formation of such an authority. There was talk by some Lindsay councillors about opening discussions with southern municipalities (presumably Scugog) about joint action. The matter was handed over to the county's finance committee. In his recommendation. to hold off, Mr. McKay pointed out that several agencies are already preparing re- ports which could influence the formation of an author- ity. Among those preparing reports are the Canadian - Ontario = Rideau Trent Severn advisory committe; Victoria County which is preparing an. official land use plan; Lindsay which is" preparing or about to pre- pare a study of the Scugog River, and the Kawartha Technical Committee, a provincial agency. ) Said Mr. McKay: "I don't think we can do too much at this time until these agen- OBITUARY GLENMAR G.
