Heron The Ladies Bible Class met last Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. E. Heron with an attendance of 15. The president, Mrs. W. Hopkins conducted the meeting. Mrs. Wm. Gard- ner read a letter from our little boy in Korea whose name is 'Bancroft'. The letter was beautifully writ- ten in Korean and translated in English. Contributions are sent from the clags for hi his support. Mrs. H. Ashton and Mrs. A. Fisher had charge of the programme and the theme was "Love". Hearts were distributed with a scripture verse on and each member in turn read their verse and days ahead. Miss Eileen Hamill is enjoying a bus trip to Florida, Mrs. Leola Fiss and Mrs. Fred Fiss visited A with Misses Hilda and Mary Hop- kins one day last week. February 13th started out each one commented on . "¢ what the verse brought to - + % their mind and meant to them. Mrs. E. Humphries sang a "lovely solo, "The Healer of Broken Hearts", and Mrs. W. Davis gave the topic for the evening which was, in her usual pleasing manner, a very interesting talk built around the word "Love". The next meeting will _be held at the home of Mrs. W. 'Hopkins, the second Wed- nesday of March. The Community Centre sponsored a tour through the new -Whitby Municipal Building on Tuesday of last week and all found it very interesting. . There were seven tables of euchre played at the party on Friday evening in the Centre. The ladies prizes went to Marian Honick and Mrs. Livingston. The meh's prizes went to Don Wood and John Hopkins. Jean John- ston had the most lone hands and Cora Nicklechuck won the door prize. The next party will be held on . February 25th. We are glad to report Miss Mary Hopkins is able to be home from the Oshawa General Hospital. We hope she will have better health Car flips 'continued propane truck caught fire. According to firemen, another motorist noticed flames shooting from the: rear wheel and chased the truck.
