Thursday February 24th, the 1st Cartwright "B"" Pack Cubs were given a tour of Scugog No. 2 Fire Station in Caesarea. Our expert guides for the evening were Chief Leonard Scott, Dep. Chief Charlie Miller and Squad Captain Raye Gould. The 16 cubs were shown the use of equipment in the station and handed in re- ports to Akela the following Thursday. The boys would like to thank the three fire- men for taking the time to show them the station and Assistant Cub Master Doug Hudson for taking them over. : After the tour, the Pack enjoyed a celebration of Lord Baden Powell's birth- day as it was. The STAR earned honourable mention for the Best Agricultural story and was one of four noted in the Best News Photo category. The premier award is an open-class competition representing weekly newspapers ranging in size from circulations below 2,000 to above 16,000.
