The Legionaires were down 2 to 0 at the end of the second period on Saturday and it was beginning to look like a long bus ride home. Not so, said the boys, as they went out in the third periey and fashioned another one of their come-from-behind thrillers. There was only 6:20 left in regulation time when Fewer let go a slap shot that deflect: ed into the Ernestown net off Hortons stick. Vizely also drew an assist on the play. From that moment on there was no stopping the Legion- aires. Just 2 minutes and 19 seconds later Russ Jones put the Legionaires back on even terms when he scored from close in with Burnett and Tremblay assisting. The third game is in Port IH: March 19th at 9:15 win Lakeshore trophy by Scott Wilbur On March 7, the Port Perry Murray Williams Bobcats Midget 2 team won the lakeshore Trophy de- feating Uxbridge 10-1. Uxbridge seemed more intent on taking penalties in this game but the Bobcats came back with goal after goal. Carey Fellows had 3 goals while Tony Oxley potted 2. Dave Canning, Rob Parker, Steve Geer, Rick Hope and John Robertson all had singles. Canning had 3 assists, Wilbur and Young, M. Geer and Robertson had 2 assists each while Fellows, Cleve- land, S. Geer and Mike Hamilton all had an assist each. This moved hie 'Cats into RS, the semi-finals for All Ontario against Unionville. In the first period Union- ville jumped into a quick 2-0 lead, before the Bobcats could reply. The Bobcats staged a come back in the second and third period with goals by Rick Hope and Steve Geer. Due to all-round defensive lapses and bad luck around the net, plus a disallowed goal -the 'Cats offensive drive was stopped. Union- ville scored the final goal at 7:38 of the third period to win the game 3-2. Craig Larmer played a creditable game between the pipes. Murray Electric bonspiel was held last Saturday at the Port Perry Curling Club, and even the unseasonal mild temperatures didn't affect the curling. The men's club spiel saw 16 teams competing for the honours, with a rink skipped by Jack Owen emerging the winners. Centre are the Murray's children, left, Tracy and Heather, Gibson, lead and Dennis Towns, second. first two periods were scoreless with both teams having some excellent scor- ing opportunities at opposite ends of the rink, but Paul Bateman for Port Perry and Craig Field for Keene were determinded to keep the score at 00. Keene scored early in the third period and held on for the 1-0 victory. Malmont Farms continuously put the pressure-on in the third period hitting two goal posts but were unable to obtain the equalizer. The loss dropped the Atoms into the consolation round where they met Orono and came away with a 7-1 victory. Port Perry got on the scoreboard early in the period as Mike Pratt -scored--assisted by Jeff Johnstone. David Kemp made the score 20. -As he scored an unassisted goal from a scramble in front of the Orono net. Jeff John- stone completed the scoring n the first period after re- ving a breakaway from Darren Desautels. Port Perry continued to dominate play in the second period by scoring 4 - un- answered goals. This win advanced the Port Perry Atoms to the consolation final against Oshawa Little N.H.L. Canadians. This game proved to be "no contest" as Port Perry humiliated Oshawa by the count of 9-2.
