At this meeting, a very complete report was given by the retiring president, David Kellogg from Welcome. David mentioned the importance of the Jun- ior Farmer Choir, the monthly Square _ Dance . It was decided to pick two persons as club reporter for. the year. They were elect- ed in the persons of Mary Ann Found of Bowmanville and Ruth Kellog of Wel- come. According to Ken Knox, Secretary-Treasurer for the Junior Farmers Association the purpose of the confer- ence is to help the delegates become more aware of their roles in society. One of the key speakers will be Mr. John Gillhem of Toronto, - who will discuss the role of young people in keeping the family unit together. Other speakers will include Grant Webber of the Energy Con- servation Department, Ont- ario Hydro; Dr. Angela Armitt, Director of the Extension Department, University of Western Ont- ario; A.R. Walker, Ministry 'of Consumer and Commere- ial Relations and Dr. Brian - Wilson, Department 6f Hu- man Kinetics, University of Guelph. Through the discussions. of educational systems, the family consumer law, physical fitness, energy con- servation, it is hoped that the delegates will have a greater understanding of the problems of society and what the Junior Farmers, as individuals, can do to help in the future. The theme for the Devotions was "Love', and those taking part were Doris Hill, Jean Pogue and Iva Phoenix.
