The group boasts an active membership of almost 20, and it is hoped that a membership drive presently underway will bring out even more people. Seen here taking aim is Kenny Dejong. Glad to report that Mrs, Rohrer was home after a short stay in Oshawa General Hospital to receive visitors and is doing fine. The Cartwright Dyno's Snowmobile Club held a pot luck supper on Sunday. Also ..on the Agenda was the elec- tion of a new executive which handed the seat of President to Mr. Harvey Graham of Blackstock. The Snowmobile Club also announced a dance to be held April 16th at the Nestleton Community Centre. The first meeting of the Horticultural Club is to be held in Nestleton Commun- ity Centre, April 5th. Every- one is welcome to attend the. meeting which should prove most interesting to those % people who enjoy gardening and plants of any kind. Some in the community "will remember Mr. Harold B. Porteous, who passed PORT PERRY STAR -- Wednesday, Mar. 23, 1977 -- 7 Nestleton area news and views away, Mr. Porteous was one -time owner of the North Nestleton Store (now the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robt, Mairs "and family). The funeral was held Saturday. He will be sadly missed by friends and family, ; Also sympathy is extend- ed to the family of Dr. Rennie who left us to share everlasting life with God. Dr. Rennie who practised medicine for many years in by all the community. The March meeting of the Nestleton Recreation Com- mittee was held Wednesday March 9th at the Nestleton Hall. The final planning for 'the dance March 12th was settled and the dance prov- ed to be success. The music supplied by the local group the "'Pick-Ups" was enjoyed by all. The committee also an- nounced a Jamboree, featuring Faye Adams and the Country Hits and M.C. Sterling Mather as well as local talent will be held, Sunday, March 27th at Nestleton Community Centre starting at 2 p.m. Everyone -is welcome to come and enjoy a musical afternoon. The former home of form- er Nestleton reporter Mrs. Jean Bolan seems to be getting a face lift. Mr. and Mrs, Bolan's son has moved into the house and is doing a very nice job of renovating. Mr. and Mrs. Bolan Senior are now residing in Whitby. ~.
