8 «, Elizabeth Stichmann elected president of Scugog Island WI by Betty Reader The annual meeting of the Scugog Island W.I. met at ~ the Community Hall on Wed. evening, April 20th, with 16 members present. The president, Mrs. Roy Freeman, welcomed all members and opened the meeting with the Ode and Collect followed by the Roll Call at which time we paid our yearly dues. Correspondence was re- ceived © from Valerie Medway-Welch thanking us for her gift. The F.W.I.O. are celebrating their 80th anniversary at Bingham Park, Kitchener, July 13th. It was agreed that we send the P.P. Agricultural Society $10.00 again this year for a-special prize at the P.P. Fair. Last year our donation was 'used in the flower class. We were reminded of the annual meeting for Ontario South branches at Brooklin for May 24th. It was moved that our Kitchen Committee remain the same and stay in office for another year. It was brought to the attention of our members by Helen Redman, that Mrs. Adam, Curator at the Scugog Historical Museum, would like help to clean the Museum on Wed. April 27th. It was moved that we donate $100.00 towards an article .to be bought to be used in the Log Cabin. Eliza Fralick and Bonnie Gerrow were named to work with Dorene Adam to help select a suitable dona- tion. Our auction sale this year will be on Saturday, July 16th and Mrs. Helen Fedyk has graciously consented to head up the committee. An appetizing lunch of sandwiches and pickles was served by the Family & Consumer affairs group and a social time was enjoyed by all. The Women's Institute is a community oriented organization and anyone interested in joining or wanting to know more about the W.I. contact Mrs. Nelson Reader (Betty) at 985-7616. The students had scores high enough to place them 76th out of 524 schools in Ontario, 134th out of 1,058 schools in all of Canada. Each team will consist of 5 members - 2 pushers, 2 pullers and 1 covered and riding in the bed. 2. Beds must include mattress and box spring or regular spring. 3. Bedding must be supplied and consist of at [east one bottom blanket, one top blanket and one pillow. 4. Each bed will be no shorter than five feet and no narrower than three feet. 5.
