Two babies were baptized, Timothy Michael Knight, -.son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Knight and Greg- ory James Emm, son of Mr. and Mrs, Gerald Emm. Mr. Herb Ashton, clerk of the Session, presented the bap- tismal certificates and the two Grandfathers, Mr. Theo. Knight and Mr. Sidney Emm presented the little boys with bibles on behalf of the congregation. The Junior choir /sang "Girl of the "Love, Love, Love', and the Senjor choir sang '"'Faith of our Mothers' which fitted in nicely with Mr, McEntyres sermon: "Family Faith, Hope and Love." : Mrs. Don Wick took care of Junior church. Next Sunday Mr. Fred Hobbs and Mrs. Nancy Pollock will be. guest speakers and will bring a message to us on Christ- ian's responsibility: in a pornographic society. Four women were pledged as new members and 20 pledges were initiat- ed into the Ritual of Jewels degree. -- "Girl of the Year" award was presented to , Bunny Rowland of Port Perry, Theta Delta chapter. Pat Phypers of Theta Psi chapter, Uxbridge was vot- ed "Girl of the Year" by her sorority sisters. This award honours the girl whom members feel most exemplifies the qualities and dedication to the concepts of her sorority. Ashton and Mr. E. Heron showed some slides of different happenings in the church and community centre over the past 20 years. Mrs. Lena Doble of Whitby spent. the weekend with her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. D. Ashton. Also recent visitors with them were Mr. Jim Doble and Mr. Lawrence Doble of Toronto. Mr. Les Guardhouse of - Mrs. family were Mr. and Mrs. Mississauga called on rel- atives and friends in the area on Saturday. Visitors with Mr. and Gerald Emm and Sam Post and Mr. and Mrs Bill Vesters and children of Whitby, Mr. and 'Mrs. John Port of Toronto also Mr. Keith Post and Miss Margaret Bailey, Mr. and Mrs. S. Emm and Mr. and Mrs. Tony Emm and family. There were six tables of euchre played on Friiay night. Jake Honigh and Ted Bryant won the mens prizes and May Leask and Hilda Hopkins won the ladies prizes. The door prize was won by Mr. Don Wood and Mr. Joe Forsyth got the most lone hands. The next party will be on May 20th.
