And many 'of the more than 1500 spectators who crowded the New Arena Thursday night for Scugog's own version of the television "Gong Show' showed _that some of the acts at least, have no business in show business, Several got the thumbs down sign from the en- thusiastic crowd and were promtly gonged by the three judges. And there was certainly | no lack of variety among the 16 acts: guitar pickers and singers, a couple of punk rockers, several different kinds of dance teams, a comedy act or two, a pair of football freaks, a guitar twanger who sounded a bit like Johnny Cash, an old man with a crock of wine and a mouth organ, and a couple of tallented young gymnasts who won the hearts of the audiences and judges alike. When the judges' final tallies were added up, top marks went to ten-year old Lynn.
