Visitors were present from Connecticut, the Maritimes and Whitby. Last year the average attendance for July and August was 24. There was a lovely presen- tation on Saturday evening for the two newlywed couples when there was a social evening and gifts were presented. Penny and her husband received a deacon's bench, bathroom clothes hamper and has- sock. Morita and her hus- band received an ironing board with cover and the iron to go with it. There was also a lovely toaster. These two girls were both raised on the Island and the daugh- ters of parents raised on the Island. So we extend Best Wishes and hope they will frequently return to their Island homes and friends. Blackstock News Many visitors attend Fair By Mrs. Pat Fletcher Blackstock Fair lived up to its fine reputation again on Saturday with a large attendance. A few drops of rain in the morning made a number of people nervous but it turned out to be a gorgeous day. Figures released today re- vealed that 223 people died in motor vehicle crashes be- tween January 1 and April 20 - against 240 through the same period in 1976.
