Sunday School at Utica will be at 10:15 a.m. The Sunday School held their walk-a-thon on Satur- day. There were approxi- mately 12 walkers and I understand that they all made the distance. Baby's name is Laura Christine and I'was talking to Denise on the telephone this morning and she and baby are doing fine. Heron Due to a temporary break down of the furnace, Sunday - School and Church service was held in the Community Centre on Sunday morning. The Junior choir sang "Sing Hosanna" and the senior choir sang "My God We Thank Thee." Mr. Jim Pagent spoke about his pictures which are hanging in the church. Burns Anniversary is not far away - Oct. 30th at 11 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Messrs Donald and Brian Knight attended the Presby- terian Young Peoples. con- vention at Guelph over the Thanksgiving weekend and reported a very good and profitable time. About 200 young people attended. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Batten enjoyed a bus trip recently to U.S.A. and enjoy- ed the beautiful colour in the state of Vermont. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hamill and family, Kathy, Robert' and Kent of Manilla were dinner guests with Mrs. Mildred Routley on Sunday. Welcome home to Mr. and Mrs. W. Hopkins who enjoy- ed a motor trip to Winnipeg and Edmonton. While there they attended a special birth- day party for Mrs.Hopkins uncles. The Ladies Bible Class all went to Fairview Lodge in- stead of having their regular October meeting, and enjoy- ed putting on a program for the residents there. A guitar solo was sung by Mr. Bill Lindsay. Duets from Mrs. R. Batten and Mr. Sam Fisher and Mr. and Mrs. E. Heron. Solos were sung by Mrs. D. Ashton nd Mrs. S. McEntyre. A thanksgiving poem was read by Mrs. A. Fisher and a happy hymn sing was enjoy- ed by all. Mrs. Wm. Davis guided the program through with her friendly comments and Mrs. W. Hopkins, president, also spoke to the group. We enjoy going to Fairview as some of our church family are residents there now. Mrs. Ethel West and' Mrs. 'Clarke were supper guests of Mrs. Thompson. There were 19 tables of euchre played at the Hall on Friday evening.
