Patrick Sears, a dramatic tribute to the man and his art. Theatre 5, a five-actor company, brings to life some of the best tales of Dennis Sears, sketching the wild Irish humour, the ele- giac mood and the brilliant prose of this Canadian comic writer. When the company pre- . sented the production in Kingston this summer, re- viewer Barry Thorne de- scribed it as 'one of the best revues I have seen this company present." Dennis Patrick Sears, a Kingston writer and news- paper columnist died last October at aged 51. He has one novel, The Lark in the Clear Air, already publish- ed, and a second called Aunty High Over the Barley . The group in charge, Mary Jean Till, Jean Rodd and Gail Denby, chose "Thanksgiving" as the Devotional theme. Tracy Denby played two delightful numbers on the piano. Alma Roundell gave a very interesting resume of their experiences this summer when she and Rev. Roundell spent several months at Nakusp, B.C. Then she showed slides which were beautiful. Doris reminded us that we will be catering for the Plowmen's Banquet on Nov. 7th, and the United Breeders' Luncheon on Dec. 9th. Velma Foster made a request for Bale articles - hand towels, wash cloths, baby sweaters, bonnets, bootees and sleepers. Any- one wishing to donate may leave them with. Velma or bring to the November meeting, The Catering Committee mentioned they did not have much help for putting up tables fo the last wedding. One suggestion was made - that more might come to help if they set tables in the afternoon instead of even- ing. The meeting closed with the Mispah Benediction and following Grace, the group served a delicious lunch.
