N Five of these six games scheduled league games with Port defeating Pickering 7 to 4, Orono 6 to 3, Newcastle 4 to 2 'and Oshawa 11 to 2 and 10 to 0. Port's only defeat to date was in an exhibition game with Bank's Construction PeeWee team from Oshawa when they lost a close 2 to 1 decision. Team statistics after 9 games give the Legionaires 8 victories against one de- feat. They have scored 55 goals while allowing the opposition 18. Individually, Young is the big shooter with five hat tricks to his credit. Jones had a hat trick in both games against Oshawa. Jackman in goal has a Juveniles defeat Uxbridge by Scott Wilbur On Friday, November 4 the Emiels Place Juveniles beat Uxbridge in their own rink 4-2. g Port built up a 3-0 lead in this penalty filled encoun- ter. Steve Geer, Mark Lee and Henry Freiter scored for Port before Uxbridge could score. Mark Lee put the game away with his 2nd goal of the night assisted by Scott Wilbur. Ritchie Le- forte had 2 assists. Ray Hamlin played a ex- cellent game between the pipes while Merle Schewaga relieved Hamlin in the sec- ond period and also played well. . Markham put on a fine demonstration of hockey skill. It was 5-0 after the first period, and 7-1 after: the second. 'The lone CTC goal was scored by Keith Tremblay, unassisted at the 8:12 mark. Markham scor- ed 4" more in the third period. Despite the final score, credit must be given to CTC goaltenders Joe Treen and Peter Christie. «Stopped more rubber in this one game than the total of the 4 previous games. On Nov. 5 the Port Perry boys travelled to Bowman- ville. After an exciting, fast skating game, CTC came . out on the top 54. Bowmanville opened the scoring at the 5:44 point then CTC came back three times unanswered. Todd Healey was first to find the mark 37 second into the second period, assisted by Scott Wallace. At 6:32 Roger Gould scored from Sean Fewer, then captain Joe Williams from Keith Tremblay at 12:24. The only goal in the game came at the 3:08 mark in the third period when Brooklin's Ken Vipond scored on a pass by John VanHeuval.. Charlie Dennis earned a well de- served shutout for Brooklin. Port Perry, joined the row- ing club at the university, and has been competing in the 8-man with coxswain class. The team, all first year students, have been practicing since September and already are winning some major meets. In the Silver Jubilee race held on the Rideau Canal, Steve's team came fifth .overall out of a class of 17 boats. Then competing in competitions. Queen's rowing coach, lan McFarlane, says that this is one of the best novice teams to come out of the Univer- sity. Steve, along with dozens of other former high school students was home over the past weekend for the annual commencement exercises. Congratulations Steve...... keep up the good work.
