Then Jack Bright tied it from Ron Griffen and Rob Monroe. Glenh Geer got the winner for Port from Russ Stephens and Glenn McCoy. Don Phinney tapped it off for Port from John McMillan and Doug Bronson. Rockbrune 7 - Towers 4 Fourth place Rockbrune upset first place Oshawa with a decisive 7-4 victory. Rockbrune took an early lead when Brian Grub scor- ed from Tom Taylor and Oshawa unassisted goal by J. Andi- son then Gino Pascuzzi scored from Gary Sherban. Rockbrune came back with four goals as Peter Taylor scored twice from Larry Scott, Doug Skelton,. twice, and Ron Suffint and Brian Grubb scored from Danny Skelton. Then Tom Taylor scored from Brian Grubb. Oshawa came within one with an unassisted goal by Emery. Then Dave Fisher scored from Gary Sherban and Gino Pascuzzi. Brian Grubb scored two more for Rockbrune to end it from Ron Suffint, Pete Taylor nd Tom Taylor. Sonya 5 - Bethany 3 Sonya picked up its first win of the season upsetting second place Bethany, Sonya scored four times before Bethany countered. Bruce Hicks scored from Bill Wanamaker. Then Blair Hicks scored unassisted. Rick Purdy then scored from Jack Seratt and R. McCabe: Jim Hern scored their fourth from John Ingram and Reg Sasshen. ~ Bethany came back with three goals by Vic Welton from Gary Weight- man. Vaughn McGill then scored from Pat Lynch. Then Pat Lynch scored unassisted. To put the game out of reach Rick Purdy scored unassisted for Sonya to end the game. Both teams had defeated the four other teams in the league and were ready for each other. Dennis Symes and Keith Fraser the goalies of Utica and C & B respectively played fantastic with the only goal of the game going to Mike Mitchell on a picturesque tip in goal on Frank Fielding's pass halfway through the first period. "Although both teams made several valid attempts they were unable to beat the opposing goal- tenders. Dennis Symes re- corded a well deserved shut- out. Brooklin 6 - Blackstock 1 Brooklin went ahead in the first minute of the game with John VanHeuval scoring from Ken Vipond and Larry Down. Controlled hunting - The Lindsay District of the Ministry of Natural Resour- ces operates two controlled hunts each autumn, com- mencing the opening day of waterfowl and small game hunting season in this area. The Scugog Island Control- led Pheasant Hunt is operat- ed in the Provincial Park Reserve on the north end of Scugog Island, Near Port Perry. Controlled pheasant hunting is provided Tuesday to Saturday inclusive for a daily fee of $8.00. Hunting hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and from 1:00 p.m. to5:00 p.m. A bag limit of two pheasants per hunter is enforced and a maximum of 45 hunters are permitted to use the 450 acre area at one time. Once again, hunt- ing permits are obtained on a first come, first served basis, and reservations will not be accepted. The Darlington Controlled Waterfowl Hunt takes place within Darlington Provincial Park near Oshawa. It is operated on Monday, Wed- nesday, Friday and Satur- day each week, and six blinds are available for a daily fee of $8.00, A service- able boat ig required to reach five of the six blinds. While hunting hours are from one-- half hour before sunrise to sunset, blind permits are available on a first come, first served basis starting at 5:00 a.m. at the park. Bill Gerber stood out between the pipes tallied a well deserved shutout. - by Glenn Geer On November 7, Monday, the Grant Menzies: Pacers Midget 1 club hosted Oshawa for the first time this season and came away with a five to one victory. Jim Treen would have had a shutout in this game if it wasn't for a few players on the Pacers getting foolish penalties. Scoring for the big red machine were Robert Kemp with three, Dave Canning and Dave Alexander. . On Saturday, Nov. 12 the Grant Menzie Pacers travelled to Peterborough and came home with a eleven to two victory. Raymond Gibson came up with good saves in net on the few times he was called up as the Pacers outplayed the opposition.
