The Bobcats went with 6 forwards and 4 defensemen as 2 players are missing action because of suspen- sions. In the first 15 minutes of play, there was one goal scored and it went to Port. It was Greg Fedyk finding a hole at 11:49 and Hal Storry and Tim Bower getting the assists. * The second period, for the Bobcats, was spent mostly on killing penalties as they successfully expired 12 minutes worth. In the final period Port Perry got two goals coming 1:15 apart. The first went to Jamie Taylor set up by Greg Fedyk and the second goal was scored by Greg Kroon- enburg and assists going to Tim Bower and Hal Storry. Port Perry was on its way to a shutout but Bowmanville spoiled goalie Craig Larm- -er's hopes with only 1:27 left - in the game. Curling Curling in upon us for another season. STAR reprints call 985-7383 Ringettes receive awards by Judy Young Dominion Hardware added another win to their credit on Saturday, Nov. 12 by beating Children's Bou- tique 9-7. These two teams are very well matched as Children's Boutique led Dominion Hardware for at least half the game. The scoring was well spread by the Hardware gang with Wendy _ McDougall getting the first two goals assisted by Sharon Ashmore and Brenda Foote. Then Karen Young got: her first of two goals both assisted by Gail Sandison. Sharon Ashmore counted two more, assisted on one by Wendy McDougall Gail Sandison got a beauty to put the game away by some fancy moves that left the Children's Boutique goalie Cindi Heurkins going the wrong way as Rosi Ring went in the net. The Ringette Sportsman- ship Award for Dominion Hardware is awarded to goalie Michelle Andrews who put forth a super effort stopping the sharp shooters from Children's Boutique. Well done Michelle! Children's Boutique's big scorer was again Sherri Allen with four goals and one assist. Keep them coming" Sherri. Chris Huerkins scored her first goal and assist on Saturday. Me- thinks she's found her spot in Ringette as a winger! Connie Southern played her wing super great and was credited with an assist. The Ringette Sportsman- ship award for Children's Boutique goes to little Jill Kendall. I'm sure Jill works harder on the ice than anyone, she doesn't skate super well YET but she's unbelievably effective. She's one of our youngest registrants but the big girls cringe when they see her coming, they really don't know what she may do next! At the risk of sensi- tivities I think we could bud Jill a super little HOT DOG! Congratulations Jill. Country Village were missing four girls on Satur- day due to a basketball tournament so we postponed their game until a later date. See you at the old arena for Ringette next Saturday at 9:00 a.m. Novice All Stars lose to Whitby Friday, November 11th, the Mersco Novice All-Stars came up against a strong, fast skating club from Whit- by and although the boys put forth an excellent effort they came out on the losing end of a 6-1 decision. Mark Kendall and Steve Whalen shared the goaltending and even though the score was very "one- sided', both boys played extremely well. Scoring for Whitby saw Derrick Middle- ton with a hat trick, Blair Philips, Scott Luich and Stuart Holtee each with singles. Assists went to Jimmy Blythe, Danny O'Connor, Stuart Holtee and Derrick Middleton. Port Perry's only goal went to Ronnie Crawford, assisted by Steve Durham. The Mersco's, picked up the only penalty in the game. It is always encouraging for the boys when the fans come out to cheer them on. We were very pleased to have Mr. and Mrs. Jim Bower (our sponsors) at our last game and we thank them both for their support. Our next home game is Fri. November 18th at 7 p.m. against Stouffville. We would be glad to have you there to support us. LULL LL LLL LL LLL LEE LLP i] : . u 3 BEDROOM BUNGALOW COMPLETELY FINISHED. Erected on your lot. 3 C.M.H.C. Approved - A.H.0.P.
