SRR : ' Ly J ® 2; g & y i ¢ pm | 7 f = Enthusiastic sell-outs for Merry Widow Four nights of sell-out- crowds for the Scugog Choral Society's production of the Merry Widow have motivated the group to a fifth performance this Thursday night. Tickets will be sold at-the-door only for this special "by popular de- mand" performance. Last weekend Town Hall 1873 was filled to capacity both nights as the cast of over 40 sang and danced their way through the 2% hour show, and again this weekend the hall will be filled. Not even members of the Choral Society had anticipat- ed the enthusiasm being dis- played by residents for the from out of the area are interested in attending. For those who saw last weekends performance, there is little doubt that the Merry Widow lived up to everyones expectations. Al- though not flawless, the act- ing, singing and dancing of the group was handled very capably. Lead characters Debbie Jones, Bill Slute, Jack Dow- son and Catherine Millar, as well as all the others were a joy to watch. The Grisettes, in their gayly decorated cos- tumes added spunk and excitment to the show, and the antics of Keith Crossland as Njegus were delightful. The entire group, from The Grisettes from Maxim's received a thunder- ous applause for their costumed version of the Can Can. From left, Beth Pereman, Bobbie Drew, Betty production staff to the players are to be congratu- lated for their parts in mak- ing this huge undertaking an unqualified success. We hope it will not be too Jong before they decided on - their next production.
