December seems to be one of our busiest months, but we do have everything under control. To begin with, our jackets have had to be altered, and prices have dropped! (They make excellent stocking ¢stuffers!) _ Our semi-formal, this Fri. December 16, features "Wenzday" and doors open at 8:30. We're hoping Santa and his helpers will be able to make a quick visit some- ¢ time during the evening; and if you're good Santa may even bring some goodies!! On Wednesday, December 14, the Student Council exe- cutive will travel to Donevan "original" ~ in Oshawa for the first annual "Regional Student, Council" meeting. Each' school has been asked to prepare a skit, helping to introduce themselves to the rest of the schools. Since Port Pexry has played a major role in -helping to instigate such a council, we're hoping that everything will go as planned, and that this meeting will be the first of many more to come in the following months and years. The Christmas Assembly - is well underway and lots of support has been shown, pro- mising to make it an enter- taining and "well worth your while" time off school! (Dec. 21). Preparations have begun for the Winter Carnival, planned for February's snow, and -all help is needed. . Regular meetings are being held after school and evenings for April's "At Home". Organizers are asking for help from every- one, and they hope that if you are interested in the formal, you'll give a little of your "spare'" time now, before it's too late. Port Perry hosted Ux- bridge's Senior basketball team last week and both teams stayed pretty well at par for most of the game. The final score ended at 97-46 for Port. Council quickly pointed out that it is not the Township policy to pipe municipal water outside the Port Perry boundaries. Council passed a motion stating that the Township is not considering any development in the proposed area. NEW RADIOS Scugog Roads superintendent Ron MacDonald has recommended that the Township purchase a two-way radio system for the works department. Mr. MacDonald told council that the present system is more than 10 years old and the rental fee is now $862 per month.
