Broncos drop close series to Uxbridge by Scott Heard On Monday, Feb. 20, the 'Midget 2 Broncos played their fifth game of an 8 point series against Uxbridge in Uxbridge. The Broncos went into the game 2 points down and came out 4 points down as they were beaten in another close game 4-3. After this loss all Uxbridge needed was one point to end the series. Port jumped into an early 2 goal lead with Greg Kroon- enburg netting the first one and linemates Tim Bower and Tony Oxley getting the assists. Then 1:27 later that same line connected again "when Tony found an opening and Greg Kroonenburg pick- ed up the assist. Uxbridge made it 2-1 at the end of the first period and the score remained at that until 6:03 into the third frame when Uxbridge tied it up. Then Bryan Myers put the Broncos ahead just 12 seconds later. : But once again Uxbridge came back with a pair to end the game 4-3. This set the stage for the seventh game which was played in Uxbridge, Sunday, afternoon. Once again it was a must game for Port and it ended up going into over- time.
