Mrs. Coates reported 23 babies received booties in past month and sweater sets had been given to twin girls recently born in hospital. We extend thanks for the donation of knitted slippers and other articles sent in to Tuck Shop. Mr. Brown, the adminis- trator reported that the new draperies had been placed in SPRING TIME IS ... Twelve Women's - Institute members and one brave husband found "Spring Blooming Indoors" at the. Spring Flower and Garden Show at Exhibition Park on Wednesday March 1st. Greeting everyone as your entered, was the Huge Floral Clock made of flowers. Tulips and hyacinths bloom- ed in every corner, also Lilac trees, pussy willow bushes, forsythia, magnolia, rhodo- dendrons and roses. There with all the flowers was the neatest, healthiest vegetable garden with one ripe red strawberry peaking out. It even smelled like spring and now we just have to wish this winter - be gone. Ten members of Green- bank WI. were the guests of Honeydale W.I. in Port Perry. We are happy to report Mr. Jack Couperthwaite is now home from St. John's Con- valescent Home in Willow- dale. Mrs. © Georgia Brock- Brendon of Port Perry was among four delegates from the federal riding of Dur- ham Northumberland who attended the Liberal Nation- al Convention in Ottawa © over, the weekend. The four delegates, alter- nates and youth delegates .- from Durham-Northumber- land were elected at a re- cent constituency meeting. A redistribution of federal constituency boundaries means that part of Scugog Township, - including Port 'Perry will no' longer be in the Ontario riding currently held by Norm Cafik. In the next federal election voters in this area will be part of the Durham-Northumber- - land riding held at the pres- ent. for the Conservative party by Al Lawrence.
