Miss Suzanne Doupe, a Port Perry High School student introduced guest speaker Dr. Wm. Lyle, who spoke about drugs and their abuse. Dr. Lyle reflected on his early days in Port Perry and those that he has kept in touch with over the past 45 years, since he left the area. During his amusing, but informative speach on drug abuse, he related that the use of drugs of any form are mainly for an escape from reality into a dream world. 1 Barbershop Quartette from Oshawa known as 'Four Wheel Drive" entertained the guests to selections of old and modern song. The worst drug of abuse he said is Alcohol. "Next to heart disease and cancer, alcohol kills more people than even automobile acci- dents." At the conclusion of Dr. Lyle's talk, Doug Williams thanked the speaker and presented him with a gift, in appreciation for him coming to talk at the Fellowship Evening. Profits from this years Fellowship Evening were donated to the Central Seven Association for Retarded Children.
