The members come from Osh- awa, Peterborough, Port Perry and the Uxbridge area. The Group meets once a week in Uxbridge for painting and constructive criticism sessions. They also organize workshops for demonstrations in pen and ink sketching, water col- ours, perspective, abstract art and oil painting tech- niques. Many Group members also take art courses from a Luiruid PORT PERRY STAR -- Wednesday, Apr. 19, 1978 -- 11 Pine Ridge artists display their talents well-known Ontario artists at places such as Haliburton School of Fine Arts, Dur- ham College and various galleries across the prov- ince. The Group is looking for- ward to their next showing in Uxbridge in June and is hoping it will be as success- ful as this one has been. Members of the group are Beth Sonley, Bert Law, Olive Palmer (Searle), Chris Chown, Edith Hall, Jean Cook, Llyn Bewley, Shirley Chapman, George Duern, Brenda Snoddon, Carla Brown, Ruth Stone. SPRING TREE PLANTING The Lindsay District of the Ministry of Natural Resourc- es will plant approximately 800,000 seedlings between now and May 15, such as: Red and White Pine, White and Norway Spruce, Cedar, European Larch, White Ash, Black Locust, Sugar and Silver Maple, Red Oak and Carolina Poplar, on approxi- mately 900 acres of land. The planting will be done on private land under the Woodlands Improvement Agreement. STREET CLEANING Street Cleaning will be done on Downtown Streets in Port Perry between the hours of: 1:00 A.M. THURSDAY NIGHTS and 7:00 A.M. FRIDAY MORNINGS. Parking is PROHIBITED during above hours. Port Perry ariel Ruth Stone with her painting of Midgley' Ss Pond which is just west of Manchester.
