In the first game Paul Beare's Aztecs (last years champions) conquered Doug Scott's team (a new addition this year) by a score of 5-0. In the second game, Mike McQuade's team - defeated Dale McQuades Flames by a score of 8-5. The Aztec's opened the scoring at 8:50 of the first period on an unassisted goal by Paul Beare. Doug Culbert was credited for the shut-out. Stu Cochrane scored his first goal of the season at 2:30 of the first frame assist- ed by Dave Nicholishen. In the second period Mark Lee scored on a rebound from Jay Williams at 0:45. Ken Bryant made it 3-0 on an unassisted goal at the two minute mark. The first section winners were the members of the "Blackballs'" team. Mem- bers were D. Quan, M. Smits, K. Webb, R. Beare, L. Bourgeois, E. Rhude. The first section High Triple winner was R. Beare with a 665 and the section - High Single of 279 was won by J. VanSchagen. The '"Bloomers" team won the second section with team members, M. VanSchagen, J. VanSchagen, S. Whalen, G. McLaren, M. Clark and D. Jeffrey." The second section High Triple winner was F. Venn- ing with a 704 and the High Single winner was M. Van- Schagen with 294. The third section winners were members of the "Jays" team, C. Summers, L. Hunt- ington, G. Wallace, R. Peyton, M.J. Fewer and J. Crawford. The High Triple -in- the third section was won by S. Whalen with a 648 and the High Single of 283 was won by C. Summers. This made the score 7-4. A comeback in the making? At 16:07 Dave Nicholishen put the game out of reach assisted by Kevin Martens. With determina- tion still left, Greg Fedyk scored for the Flames assisted from Burnett and Bower making the final score 8-5.
