Staff Presentation PORT PERRY STAR -- Wednesday, May 10, 1978 -- 13 By Mrs. Rose Heron The May meeting of the Ashburn group of the W.M.S. was held on Wednesday evening of last week at the home of Mrs. S. McEntyre. The opening devotions were taken by Mrs. D. Ashton, who spoke about "Witness- ing". The study for the evening was taken from the current study book by Mrs. Fred Daw. The next meeting will be held on June 6th, instead of the regular date, which is the Summer Rally to be held at St. John's Church, Port Perry. Next Sunday at Burns Church will be Family Day service and we will also celebrate the sacrament of Holy Communion. This coming Friday night the Welcome Club invites everyone to join with them in a games night in the church hall. The time is 8 p.m. Mrs. Dorothy Lunney, who has recently returned from Kissimmee, Florida, visited last Tuesday with Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Harrison. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Gard- the home of the McKims at Cannington in honour of Mrs. Mabel Samells 85th birth- day. Guests were present from Willowdale, Guelph, Stouffville, Port Perry and Ashburn. Mrs. R. Batten, Mrs. L. Death, Mrs. A. Fisher, atten- ded the Women Alive Con- ference at Waterloo over the weekend. Miss Julie Emm spent the weekend with her friend Miss Caroline Crooks of Leaskdale. Miss Eileen Hamill spent a week with her brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hamill of Manilla, and returned home on Sunday was humourous and very entertaining. The Manches-~ Bob and Kent who were dinner guests with Mrs. W. Routley. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Vicers and son, Jim, of Fergus visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Ashton and family.
