Well, wouldn't you know they weren't false, as Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Strong (formerly Mabel Graham) were married. On Saturday evening, April 29, the Men's Fellow- ship thoughtfully entertained the Ladies Fellowship inclu- ding spouses of both groups from local and sister church all assembled in our village church. A member, Mr. Allen Martyn and wife Beth entertained for over an hour sharing their beautiful pic- tures of Israel. The local lady members provided a suitable delicious lunch amid sociality. Then again on Saturday evening, May 6, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Martyn invited and opened their home when a sumptuous pot luck meal was enjoyed by over 20 folk with whom the Martyn's previously travelled to the Holy Land. At a later hour, the guests re-travelled their trip via colourful pictures. Naturally those present ar- rived from various direct- ions but in departing voiced warm appreciation to the hosts, the Martyns. Sunday afternoon, Mr. and Mrs. H. Strong were invited to the home of Mr. and Mrs. T. Manns, Scugog Island, where all nieces and nephews had arranged a newly wed party. All enjoy- ed a palatable buffet after which Mable and Hugh were recipients of a liberal amount of lawn furniture and good wishes.
