Ce ~ =o dDI0o ARE SY ROGET St 3 eh Ji3 4 2 erS Location Undesirable Dear Sir: I have just read that the Ontario Housing Authority has applied for severance of the proposed site of the new Senior Citizens' Unit. It is satisfying to note this is coming more close to being a reality. It is of concern to me to note the location. I have just 'measured the distance from points of need and interest to most people and find the site is; 8-10ths mile from most churches and the Post Office 9-10ths mile from Latchman Centre, the meeting place for Senior Citizens, and there is no sidewalk nearer than two blocks, rather a long way for our elder folk to walk on the street. Of course, there is no public transportation so they will have to be wholly depen- dent on friends and-or taxi service. I would expect our local council had some in-put in the discussions which would lead to this decision. Was no other site available that would have left our seniors a little more closely in touch with the life and activities of the community? Perhaps it is not yet too late to look again at this decision. Yours sincerely, M.B.Dymond Port Perry Ie see RICHARD HUNT at WILLIAMSON MOTOR SALES Uxbridge 852-3331 or For the Best Deals on New G.M.
