H. Cornish and Prince Albert elementary schools by the minor soccer associ- ation in Port Perry this summer. However, permission to use the field at Port Perry High School for soccer league games three times a week this summer could depend on whether Scugog Township decides to enter into an agreement with the Board of Education for repairs and restoration of the field at the end of the summer. : ~ Durham Board of Edu- cation chairman Yvonne Christie said that a letter has been sent to the Township with a copy of a trial agree- ment the Board has worked out with. the municipality of Ajax for use of the school field during the summer months and for their restor- NA ation. The Board already has similar agreements with Oshawa, Uxbridge and Pickering. The Board feels there should be financial respons- ibility for the care and restoration of high school fields when they are used by the general public for non- school activities during the summer months. The soccer association has scheduled its first league exhibition game for the high school field in Port Perry on May 22. The letter from the Board of Education outlining the agreement and require- ments was mailed out to the municipality last week, and will likely be included in the agenda when holds its regular meeting May 23. The soccer association will use the field at Prince Albert School for practices and Squirt league games will be held at Cornish School.
