(5) Driveways Notwithstanding any other provisions of this by-law to the contrary the following provisions shall apply ® to driveways. (a) the maximum width of a driveway, measured along the sidewalk, where such exists, and along the street line shall be 35 feet; (b) the minimum distance between driveways measured along the street line intersected by such driveways shall be 30 feet; (c) the minimum distance between a driveway and an intersection of street lines measured along the » street line intersected by such driveway shall be 50 feet; (d) the minimum distance between an interior side or rear lot line and the closest point of an adjacent' driveway measured along the lot line shall be 10° feet; and (e) the minimum interior angle formed between the street line and the centre line of any driveway shall be 70 degrees. (6) Location of Kiosk Notwithstanding any other yard provisions of this by-law to the contrary, a kiosk may be located within any "yard provided that the. minimum & distance between the kiosk and any lot line shall be 35 feet. (7) Car Wash - Automobile Storage Areas Every car wash whether separate and distinct or-in conjunction with an Automobile Service Station or a Gasoline Bar shall provide waiting lines for the storage of vehicles in accordance with the following provisions: (a) for a manual car wash, a waiting line of a minimum of 3 spaces per bay shall be provided at the place of ingress to each bay; # (b) for a mechanical automatic car wash where the automobile remains stationary while being washed, a waiting line of a minimum of 5 spaces shall be provided at the place of ingress to each bay; (c) for an automatic tunnel car wash, a waiting line of a minimum of 25 spaces per bay shall be provided at the place of ingress to each bay, with a minimum of 5 spaces being in a single line at the place of ingress to the unit; and (d) all waiting lines shall be clearly defined by painted markings or physical barriers. [6] That Section 2 of By-law 1784 is hereby amended by: oo (1) Deleting subsection (n) therefrom and substitu- ting the following therefore: (n) "GARAGE, PUBLIC" means a building in which motor vehicles are repaired, maintained, serviced, or equipped and where motor vehicle grease and other related products, except motor vehicle fuel, are sold or kept for sale, but does not include a car wash or an automobile sales establish- ment. - (2) Deleting subsection (zm) therefrom and substi- tuting the following therefore: #zm) "SERVICE STATION, AUTOMOBILE" means a building or place where motor vehicle fuel, oil, grease and other related products are sold on a retail basis, where minor repairs are made or performed and where motor vehicles may be greased and oiled. (3) Adding the following subsection thereto: (ba) ""CANOPY" means an unenclosed structure designed and located in a manner so as to provide shelter and protection over a pump island or group of pump islands. &(4) Adding the following subsection thereto: (na) "GAS BAR' means a building or structure or a group of buildings or structures designed and located in a manner so as to facilitate the dispens- ing of motor vehicle fuel and other related products and shall not in¢lude service bays or other facilities for the repairing of automobiles or the changing of oilsor the greasing of motor vehicles. (5) Adding the following subsection thereto: (va) ""KOISK" means a building or structure having a gross floor area not in excess of 400 square feet and used for the housing of recording and supervisory equipment related to the operation of a gas bar, for the storing of products kept for sale relating to a gas bar and for providing washroom facilities to be used in conjunction with a gas bar. (6) Adding the following subsection thereto: (zua) "WAITING SPACE' means an area of not less than 160 square feet, exclusive of any aisles or ingress or egress lanes, having a minimum per- pendicular width of 8 feet and a minimum perpen- dicular length of 20 feet, to be used by motor vehicles awaiting access to a car wash. [7] That Section 4 of By-law 1784 is hereby amended by: (1) Deleting the words 'automobile Service Stations and' from Section 4, subsection (q). (2) Deleting entirely Section 4, subsection (q), subparagraph (i). [8] That Section 7 of By-law 1784 is hereby amended by: (1) Deleting the words 'automobile service stations' from Section 7, subsection (a), subparagraph (i). [9] That Section 8 of By-law 1784 is hereby amended by: (1) Deleting the words 'automobile service stations' and 'car wash station' from Section 8, subsection (a), subparagraph (ii). [10] That Section 11A of By-law 1784 is hereby amended by: (1) Deleting the words 'automobile service stations' from Section 8, subsection (a), subparagraph (11). [11] That Schedule 'A' of By-law 1784 is hereby amended by: (1) Deleting the words 'automobile service station and' from Column 2, Lines 7 & 8. [12] That Schedule *'B' to By-law Number 1784 is hereby amended by changing the zone designations to "AS" and "GB of the lands so marked on Schedule "A-1"" annexed to this By-law. These were welcomed by Mac Whybrow. } We opened with our National Anthem with Aleta Leask at the piano. George Rahm was warmly wel- comed as a new member. Winnifred Causley gave the Secretary's report. The bus trip to the races is ordered for June 21 at the Woodbine. Please see May Whybrow and Mary Sweet- man next-meeting. It was moved and second- ed that Ray and Doris Grierson be our delegates to Convention, with Mac and Mae Whybrow as alter- nates. We will also be sponsoring a trip to Marineland at Niagara Falls, probably in August. - The flight to Melbourne, Florida, next March was also discussed. Names: to be given to Marion King or Mae Whybrow by May 10.' The euchres in April clear- ed $107. with Mrs. Aldred's group in charge. This is very encouraging. Marion Rowland, our Corresponding Secretary reported one sympathy card -and two get-well cards had been sent. Mrs. Irwin reported a very fine job with Mr. and Mrs. Mel James visiting our sick in hospital, also friend- ly visits to Nursing Home and Villa. We voted to loan our former piano to the Museum for their opening May 20, 21, at which our Choir will sing and our square dancers will partici- pate. We closed with the Mizpah Benediction. A lovely lunch was served of several kinds of cake and the ladies certainly were 'generous. Allan Martyn, at the request of the Entertain- ment Committee showed beautiful slides of Amster- dam and Palestine, which they visited February 28, 1978, under the sponsorship of Rev. and Mrs. Griffith. Some of the highlights were - one church had the Lord's Prayer written on the walls in 62 languages; olive trees never die; you wash your feet before entering temple; swimming in Dead Sea is fun; 2 trees planted in honour of Corrie den Boehm and finally, the beautiful sunset over the Scugog River on arrival home. Stan Ploughman thanked Allan for sparine and sharing these beautiful pic- tures with the Senior Citizens. g Our Rummage, Bake sale and tea table brought in about $250. to the Treasurer and Mildred Thomson and Caroline Bell are to be congratulated on this very successful venture.
