Members agreed to act as guides again this year at the Museum on Thursdays in August. There are five *Thursdays so many volun- teers will be needed. Cor- respondence was read from the Provincial Secretary of Social Development re strengthening family roots during family unity month, A donation was approved to be given to Central Seven towards the building of the "Shelter Workshop. A news- letter was read from the Scugog Community Care. The P.P. Fair display com- mittee were reminded that the name of the project this year is 'Brighten your Kit- chen". Helen Fedyk reported for the Award Committee and outlined four points to be kept in mind. It was unani- mously approved that we go ¢ ahead with the Award. Janis Richardson reported that the sale of tickets on the lovely quilt made by the members is going well. It was agreed that the dele- gates to the District Annual on May 24th have their lunch paid for by the branch. Jess Chambers read us a letter she is mail- ing to our "'pen pal" W.I. in Smeeth, England, who are celebrating their 60th anni- versary, - The July 15th Auction Sale was discussed and flyers were distributed ana will-be delivered on the Island, Saturday, June 10. Conveners are reminded to plan their '78-'79 programs in order that they may be printed up. Clare Thomp- son has made a beautiful" job of framing the W.I. pins which belonged to Mrs. Fred Cavannah of Smeeth W.1., Kent, Endland. Our delegate, Reta Wil- son, gave a very enthusias- tic report of her.visit to the Waterloo Conference. The business part of our meet- ing closed with the singing of O Canada. Christina Prentice gave a reading on changes in the Immigration Law and Jess Chambers outlined the rules of Citizenship. ~ Next month, June 17th, will be. Reverend Kerr with his wife June, resides in Ux- bridge where he retired two years ago after a thirteen year ministry at Temple Baptist. During his long ministry in Cambridge, the church due to growth ex- panded several times. Dr. Kerr is also -a- past Presi- dent of Central Baptist Seminary, Toronto, and taught Pastoral Theology for nineteen years.
