OBITUARY - Reginald Foster Reginald Foster Funeral services were held on Friday, June 2, 1978 from McDermott - Pana- baker Funeral Home in Port Perry for Reginald A. Foster of Greenbank. Born in London, England Wright, 4:17:58. Youngest person to enter the race was Scott Brandon, 10 years old. The youngest couple to enter the Couples Class were Michael Taylor and Sean Muir. Amongst the Durham Region Canoeists, Canoeists who participated came from Peterborough, Windsor, London, British Columbia, North Bay, Cali- Scarborough, _ fornia, Toronto, -Baysville, Belgrave, Hansell, St. Mary's and Dorset. All canoes were in by 4:45 p.m. on April 4, 1908, he emi- grated to Canada from "Doc- tor Barnado Home For Orphans' in 1922. He was placed on a farm near Greenbank and even- tually spent many happy years with the Ryerson Beare family. In 1932 he started a poultry and egg business at Green- bank which his son Douglas still operates. He was keenly interested in Municipal affairs and Ed- ucation and at the time of Regional Government take- over he was chairni~n =f the Central Ontario County Higu School Board and a Reach Township councilman Despite his limited educa- tion he was a gifted speaker and debater and his voice could always be heard in support of the underdog. He was a member of War- riner Lodge 1.0.0.F. of Port Perry for over 40 years and held many offices in that Lodge. He is survived by his wife Velma Rodd whom he mar- ried in 1929 and their four children, Rodd and Douglas of Greenbank, Bonnie (Mrs. Bill Beer) of Whitby and Stephen of Oshawa, plus eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by three brothers and two sis- ters; Stan of Little Britain, Minnie (Mrs. Bill Murray) of Uxbridge, James and Doris of England and Leonard of Australia. Rev. J.
