The kids can't wait but I'll bet some of the moms sure can! We were pleased. to have Mrs, Stella Wallace of Point du Chene, New Brunswick as a visitor in our village recently. Mrs. Wallace was the guest of her daughter Gloria and Dorothy Massell. It was rumoured that Mrs. Wallace was working be- hind the counter the odd day or two as well - I'd say that was pretty spiffy for a lady who celebrated her 70th birthday during her visit. Congratulations and our best wishes for many, many more! Monday evening Unit 2 mek at the home of Mrs. Liz Smith for their usual month- ly meeting but following the business portion of the meeting I was pleasantly surprised to find that I was the guest of honour and recipient of a lovely Swyngo- matic cradle and swing from all the gals. Afterwards we all enjoyed a delightfully dainty lunch prepared by our talented hostess. Many thanks to Liz and all the girls for a wonerful and memorable evening. This week was certainly the week for parties as Unit 2 ladies and their hubbies held their annual Travelling Sup- _ per on Saturday evening Until then I had no idea just how much untapped "talent and culture" we had present within our group as anyone would have plainly been able to see in the portrayal of Robert Service's poem "The Shooting of Dan McGrue" featuring such well-known 'stars' as Bob, Neil, Don and Elaine. Also what Holly- wood production would be 'caught dead without a line of pretty chorus girls - not us that's for sure. By the way, anyone wishing to place an order for a replica of that lovely gold hat that was modelled by Peter can do so by calling Glenda. But please do so right away so you won't be disappointed as there will no doubt be many orders ahead of yours! The entertainment committee is to be congratulated for a job extremely well done. Many thanks to the Greg Smiths, the Larry Wilkertons, the Peter Jones and the Keith Puckrins for sharing their homes for the evening and to all the ladies who contribu- ted in any way to make the evening the smashing suc- cess that it was. And an especially big thanks to all the grandparents for baby- sitting for us. Glad to report little Bran- don Puckrin is home again from a short stay in Port Perry Hospital. We also hope brother Bradley is soon feeling better from his bout with the chicken pox. Lee and Blair Beacock were guests for the week-end at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Les Beacock of Prince Al- bert. On Saturday they were treated by Grandpa and Grandma to a trip to Brook- lin Fair. Congratulations to Mr. Brian York of Sun Valley who recently graduated from Durham College. Several persons from the Seagrave and Greenbank area competed in the Canoe the Nonquon race on Satur- day. ; The general U.C.W. meet- * ing will be held on Wed. June 14 at the Church at 8:00 p.m. Special guest for that eve- ning will be Mr. Alan Martyn of Scugog Island who will entertain with slides of his recent trip to Israel so please attend. Unit 2 will meet at the home of Mrs. Marilyn Puck- rin on Mon. June 19 so gals keep this date in mind please. Pinedale United Church will be celebrating their Sun- day School Anniversary on Sun.
