It was an hour for the children to sit in the class- room and to get the feel of "PHILP Final Shipments of 1978 G.M.C. PICKUPS * Arriving Shortly! Mrs. Rowland, the after- noon kindergarten teacher, created a happy atmosphere for the children during this hour. Sometimes its hard for the children to leave the security of their homelife. This orien- tation time helps prepare them, so in September it will be easier for them to say good bye to mom for awhile each day. Having a child myself, I know the feeling many mothers will be having. There are days when I won- der if my son will ever be quiet for five minutes and not ask so many questions, but I know when September comes, I will really miss him and the quiet will be hard to adjust to. Since David, my son, has spent that afternoon in school, he is more eager to dress himself, tie up his shoes and do up his own buttons. He says "I'm big now, mom, I'll soon be in school, so I have to learn lots of things." The Couples Club met Sat- urday evening for a progres- sive dinner. They started at 6 p.m. at Terry and Eileen Hodgins for juice and hors d'oeuvres, then at 7 p.m. they arrived at the home of Lloyd and Beth Pereman. Delicious salads and rolls were enjoyed. From there the 15 couples went to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Hunter for the main course. Different types of casseroles were enjoyed by all. At 8:45 they went to the church for dessert -- strawberries with cream and cake. Tea and coffee were also served. The group was then enter- tained with a skit by Myrtle Snelgrove and some singing. The evening was a great success. The Couples Club will meet again in September.
