Mr. and Mrs. Peter Zoell- ner of Grimsby called on their aunt Mrs. Grace Taylor after attending the Kydd Picnic in Uxbridge. Other recent visitors with Mrs. Taylor were Mrs. 1. Payne, Miss Brenda Payne and Miss Esther Houghland. Mrs. J. Begin and Jeffrey had lunch last Tuesday with Mrs. H. Littler and Mrs. Beryl Martin in Thornhill. The Begins spent last Sat- urday and Sunday with John's father Mr. Art Begin at Presqu'ile Point. Several neighbours visited with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Ruhl in Uxbridge and presented them with a swag lamp and a painting on behalf of their « Epsom friends in honour of e their marriage. Our best wishes go with Mr. and Mrs. Breznikar and daughter on their visit to Yugoslavia this summer. Last summer their sons visi- ted the homeland, so this year they will keep things while their parents enjoy a well earned vacation. Last Sunday evening the Brezni- kars were dinner guests with Mr. and Mrs. Walter Kerry P "and family. Our best wishes to Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Geer who were married last Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. G. Jeffrey visited with Mrs. John Moore and Clarke last Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Caw- ker called on Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Jeffery on Sunday afternoon. We were so sorry to learn that Miss Julie Baster had to # have an operation on her knee. She will be confined to bed for sometime then pro- gress to crutches. Julie 3BE would love to receive a card from her friends. Her ad- dress is Scheldelaan 16, Netherlands. Dr. Jerrold Asling re- turned to good old Ontario this morning. He was with a medical team of thirty-seven who went to Honduras for two weeks. They sure don't have O.H.L.P. there or much of anything else, so the team was very busy. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Asling have returned from a two week vacation in Alberta where they enjoyed a re- union with Stella's family at Rimbey on the occasion of her sister's 80th birthday. Mrs. Garrell of Lindsay who had been visiting for two months. We would appreciate a few donations of plain white un- iced cake for our Strawberry festival Friday, July 14th at Utica Hall. There will be no church next Sunday. We wish a happy holiday for Rev. Cliff Pendlebury and his wife Zena who are going to Greece to visit Zena's rela- tives. Congratulations to Mr. Barry Bushill who just grad- uated from University with his B.A. Barry leaves on Tuesday for Saudi Arabia. Last week Barry and Lois called on Rey. and Mrs. Robt. Thompson at Smith- ville. We are pleased that Beverly is improving. Today Barry and Lois had lunch with Mr. and Mrs. H. Ashton then went to Toronto for a farewell visit with his fam- ily. Awards day and Graduation Day On Thursday, June 22, the annual awards assembly was held at Epsom Public School. Mr. Rutledge, the principal welcomed the stu- dents and parents. The Heritage Day Awards sponsored by Port Perry Kinsmen Club were won by Sandra Kerry and Lee Wilbur. Best attendance awards went to Donna-Lynn Oldnall, Glen Kerry, Peter Sutcliffe, Norman Gourlie, Kirt Stane- slow, Brian Kerry, John Rankin, Cindy Harris and Kay Wray. The Grade 6 English ward was presented to Tony Goslin on behalf of the Bethesda-Reach W.I. who sponsored this annual award by Mrs. G. Jeffery. The proudest girl in town was Suzanne Holy who was the recipient of the General Proficiency Award spon- sored by Epsom Community Club. On Friday, June 23, the Canada Fitness Awards were given. On Friday, June 23, the students of Grade 6 celebra- ted their graduation with a Parent-student baseball game and with the out stand- ing play of the parents were: soundly beaten, but due to the fact that there was no "official" scoresheets the score remained tied.
