Slemmon were in Jarvis attending the United Church where Rev. Mark Reeves preached his farewell sermon. Rev. and Mrs. Reeves are taking up residence in Sandy Cove Acres, Stroud, upon their retirement. Jody Kathleen Johnson of Port Perry was among 1298 students who graduated this month from Sheridan Col- lege in Oakville. She received her diploma in Art Education at the Col- lege's 10th Annual Convoca- tion June 8 and 9. A testimonial dinner for Mr. Ivan Parkinson and Mr. G.E. Bettson, at Oshawa Golf and Country Club was held Thursday, June 15th. Following a buffet dinner and appropriate speeches Mr. and Mrs. Parkinson were presented with a twelve piece lawn furniture group- ing including a gas bar- beque. After a combined 34 years of teaching in Mattawa, Port Perry, and Courtice, Mr. Parkinson intends to travel, write and possibly supply teach. THE OBJECTORS One of the remaining two objectors as of late Monday night was registered by a woman who owns property on Bay Street in Port Perry, but lives most of the week in Toronto. The woman appar- ently lives at the Port Perry residence only on the week- ends. The other objector who still had not withdrawn by late Monday night lives on Perry Street in Port Perry almost a mile from the pro- posed development in the Rosa-Cochrane Street area. The re-zoning by-law will be forwarded to the OMB on Wednesday or Thursday of this week regardless of whether the two remaining objectors have been re- moved. An OPP spokesman said that the 27 foot trailer was reported stolen from the sales yard some time be- tween June 22 and 24. The arrest warrant for John Love, 33, of London, was issued after an OPP officer from the Beaverton The 6th Reunion of former Port Perry High School students was held at the home of Evelyn and Terri Harris at View Lake. This event is held every three years and was started in 1960. The afternoon was spent in visiting and this was fol- lowed by a buffet supper. A short meeting was held in which Hazel Slemmon read the minutes. Terri Harris read letters from those un- able to attend and Eric Nasmith spoke and thanked Evelyn and Terri for their gracious hdspitality.
