It is a lovely book donated "by Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Redman, in memory of Clifford's parent, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Red- man. I guess our next need will be a Baptismal font. So perhaps you can keep this in mind, if you wish to make a memorial donation. One highlight of the Sun- day Service was the organ music by Dr. Tom Millar and the lovely vocal solo by Mrs. Millar and her husband's accompaniment on the piano. Although the choir does not have Ethel Freeman's leadership through the summer, many of the mem- bers are carrying on by themselves and doing a fine service, There were several child- ren out on Sunday and. Mrs. Cawker cared for them dur- ing the sermon. We certain- ly appreciate the extra help of these people in order that others may participate at ease. Before leaving the sanctuary, Rev. Linstead told his usual appealing and worthwhile story. This one being about Michael Fara- day, who made his contribf- tion to society in the field of electricity. From an early childhood experience he learned a lesson that he carried through life: - "I can't be on both sides at once". Nothing can be ac- complished if you attempt this. Next week Mrs. Jim Van Camp will provide special music at the Island Church Service. Every Sunday dur- ing the summer, there will be a special musical treat for you. So plan to come along and bring your company. Mrs. John Sweetman who has had three operations on her eyes and expects two more wishes to express ap- preciation for the lovely roses sent to her after a recent Church Service.
