Special thanks to Mother 'Jackson's and' their em- ployees, especially Mr. Wright and Mr. Price, who. - took 50 children-on a tour of the factory. As we left the plant tucked under each. little arm was a-package of - delicious meat pies. Thank you from the staff and child- ren. Special thanks is also sent to Lake Scugog Lumber for the pieces of lumber. The children have been creating masterpieces each day with the wood. "Regular activities at the playground for the six weeks will include roller skating for the seniors every Tuesday morning, a junior swim (ages 4,5,6) every Tuesday afternoon, a senior swim (ages 7,8,9,10) every Wed- nesday afternoon and films in the gym every Friday afternoon. During the week of July 24 to 28, The Binkley and Doin- kel Road Show will be wisit- ing our site on July 25 at 3:30. This is a puppet show for _ children travelling from Toronto. Playgrounds will operate from 1:30 to 4:00 on this day only due to the show. On July 27, a policeman, 'Constable K. Dupre, will be visiting at 9:30 to give us some safety tips. The morning of Wednes- day, July 26 is scheduled for - Indian Day. The children can dress up as Indians and the morning program will be The Fonz at the hop by Deb McLaughlin Blackstock Playground had a great first week with over 50 registrations. On Tuesday, our Grafitti Day we were visited by (You guessed it!) THE FONZ: (Steven Barten). Fonz cooly taught us. how ta twist and jive at our sockhep. Many of the children were hard to recognize with bobby socks, pony tails, rolled up jeans, T-shirts and of course their hair slicked back. We really. rocked around the clock on Tuesday. - On Thursday, our Hawai- ian Day, grass skirts, laias, sun glasses and bathing suits paraded down the streets of Blackstock saying "Aloha' to all. Karen Powell brought in some Hawaiian guitar music for us to wiggle and sway to and Julie Young brought in some souvenirs from her trip to Hawaii. A big thankyou to these girls. We watched a tour film of Hawaii, had Hawaiian punch and a real pineapple. It was great being in Hawaii for a day! There will be no excuses for getting bored the week of July 17 to 21. Tuesday was' Pirate Day, Wednesday will Let's irases up ...at Port Perry playground devoted to Indian games, crafts and songs.
