The notorious Captain Hook once again "buried his treasure on Black- stock playground on Pirate Day. The hunt was a tricky one - you had tobe quick with rhyming 'words. The trea sure was finally discoyered by Greg Stapleton in (of all places) the'sandbox. Unfor- tunately our Treasure Chest leaked a bit and our treasure (Starburst Candies) was a bit gritty. Oh well, we didn't " mind. Pirates are a hardy lot! Space Day should have Jbeen called original costume - day. I have to hand it to some mothers (or maybe it was the kids) the costumes were super. Old shirts, garbage bags, pieces of styrofoam all magically turned into costumes that could put Star Wars to -Shame! We weren't visited Joyany little green men from Mars but we were visited by Cotton Jenny the Rabbit. Thankyou to Linda Sutton for bringing her pet. On Canada Day we all made Canadian flags and paraded down the streets of - Blackstock. There will also be a King and Queen day on Tuesday, Mon- ster Day on Thursday (I can hardly wait to see the cos- tumes on that day!) and Grub Day on Friday. -On Grub Day we can all wear our favorite sloppyshirt and be comfortable. Please mark August 3 on your calen- dars because we are plan- ning a Talent-Night to be held ih the Latcham Centre in Port Perry. This is a night for the kids to ham it up and entertain their families and friends! More information' to follow! And joy of all joys mark August 11-on your calendar for sure! "We are going to Port Perry for 'a swim! There will be no Playground in Blackstock on. this day as the bus will léave about 9:30 'and return around 3:30. The children are asked to bring their lunch for a picnic in the park and then we will swim in the afternoon. We will have to charge $1 per child to cover the cost of the bus and: the 50 cent admission into the pool. There will be lots of . things to do in Port even if you do not want to swim. Any mothers who would like to come along would be greatly appreciated. P.S. If anyone has seen our black and white soccer ball we would appreciate it if you would return it!
