"Mrs. Chester Holley and Mrs. Ron Jackson and child- ren of Markdale were recent visitors with Mrs. Mervyn MacCannell. Mr. and Mrs. George Har- per attended a bridal shower at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd ,Slute of Raglan, on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Eric Carre and children were in Toronto on Saturday. While there they visited Mr. and Mrs. Trevor Carre and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hinchcliffe. Later they had dinner and spent the evening with Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Holmes. + Mr. and Mrs. Ken Mac- Donald and Carol-Anne of Oshawa were Sunday visi- tors- with Mrs. Ray Mac- Donald. Miss Paula Beare of Oshawa is holidaying with the Hillis Wilburs. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Bailey visited in the Minden area on Sunday. Mr. Ross Diamond and Kevin of Scarborough and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Diamond were Saturday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Clark of Keswick. Visitors with Rev. I.L. and Mrs. Saunders on Saturday were: Mr. W.F. Young~-of Brockville, Mr. and Mrs. George Hunter of Durham, England, Mr. and Mrs. Ron Saunders and family and Mrs. David Saunders and children of Newmarket, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Colbourne and Mr. and Mrs. Gary Saunders of Oshawa. About 300 people attended a barn dance on July 15 at Maurice and Bertha Meule- meester"s. Music was sup- plied by neighbours who used to live in the commun- ity. Mr. Len Barker spoke on behalf of all who attended in appreciation and thanks to Maurice and Bertha for the wonderful "get-together". Mr. George Knight at 83, was still able to enjoy himself by dancing. New, enforced rules at Mosport due fo violence and rowdyism Plagued by recent inci- dents of violence and rowdy- ism, Mosport Park an- nounced last week that all off-road vehicles will be banned from the park, and that single overnight cam- pers must register before entering the track grounds. In making the announce- ment, Mosport Park presi- dent Harvey Hudes said "we want to control trouble-- makers." "They: make up a very small minority of our race weekend visitors, but we must protect the rights of the vast majority of fans who go "to enjoy the races and not to create a disturbance." In future, all off-road vehicles including motocross motorcycles, dune buggies and four.wheel drives will be totally banned from our property. The owners of such vehicles will be invited to leave them in nearby impound areas if they wish to enter the racetrack. The owners are welcome, but their vehicles are not. This restriction extends to the owners of road going motorcycles who will be asked to put their machines in a road riders paddock. A few of our young soccer players and their parents attended a soccer game at Varsity Stadium in Toronto on Sunday night. A good game enjoyed by all.
