Librarian speaks toNestleton WI On Wednesday afternoon ladies of Nestleton Women's Institute met in the Recrea- tion Centre for the August meeting with a number of welcome visitors attending. Following the opening "Ode" and "Mary Stewart Collect" with Mrs. Grant » Thompson pianist, the presi- dent Mrs. George Heaslip, extended a warm welcome to all. She read an interesting article from Home and Coun- try 1972 when Mrs.. Noblett was president of F.W.1.0. Mrs, Noblett.gave impres- sions of a first meeting with the "Mary Stewart Collect" a €sthe theme. There may be two faces and standards but we must make an honest effort to live up to our ideals. Minutes and correspon- dence were read by the Secretary, Mrs. M. Firlit. No T.V. show can equal a good book. She spoke of becoming "Hooked" on special series, One of these is the Jalna Books. Some books have endings at the beginning and some have no endings at all. They leave that to your imagination and you are disappointed. Poetry in the Home and Country is being missed by its readers. Writing is a gift and Mrs. Davidson told of a RER y RLF N . She spoke of "The Hooples of Hoople Creek' by Elizabeth Hoople. This was of special interest as the Hooples lived east of Nestleton on the property now owned by Mr. Michael Brod. A picture of the original log dwelling is in the Nestleton Tweedsmuir His- tory Book. Mrs. Davison, following her splendid talk, introduced the guest speaker, Mrs. Don Milne, chief librarian at Scugog Public Library in Port Perry. Port Perry is a member of Central Ontario Regional Library (CORL) since 1968 and the fourteenth to be organized. Port Perry (Scugog) library was built in 1934 with public funds and with assistance from I.0.- D.E. It is open everyday except Wednesday and Sun- day from 10.to 6 and from 10 to 9:00 on Friday.
