Sunday was Rally Day at our church, those who re- ceived an award for Sunday School attendance were: (1st year certificate)- lan Smith, Michelle McAskill, Lisa Jan- sen, Tara Lynne Puckrin, Kevin Buscher, Linda Bus- cher, Diane Puckrin and Donna Wanamaker. 2nd year seals were given to Mandy Cavannah, Amy Lynn Wanamaker, Brett Puckrin, Kevin Jones. 3rd year to Marilyn Puckrin, Brad Puckrin, Catherine Short, Kevin Puckrin. 4th year to Blair Beacock, Shane Branton, Melody Sommer- ville, Jay Branton, Scott Branton Bonnie Branton. 5th year to Lee Beacock. 6th year to Robert Wanamaker, Paul Wanamaker, Joey Stone and Ted Sturman. 8th 6 -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Wed., September 6, 1978 year to Kimmie-Joe Stone. 19th year to Angie Stone, Mark Sturman. 11th year to Carol Sturman. 12th year to Joanne Nobbs. Ann Clements has suffered a sprained ankle and Joanne Nobbs was struck by a car this week. We hope you both are feeling better now. Bert and Glenda Hutcheon hosted a corn roast for ap- proximately 70 children on Friday evening. Senior citizens by Marion King A lovely picnic sponsored by the Programme commit- tee of the Senior Citizens, was held at Latcham Centre on Wednesday, August 23 at 3 o'clock. After one hour of quizzes and games, we played penny bingo for an hour, then a lovely supper of sandwiches and dessertsWas served variety style. In the evening, we played progres-_ sive euchre with a prize each round. It was announced, square dancing would start Septem- ber 6th, also drop-in would be that day, too. Also remem- ber our first meeting Sep- tember 13th when election of officers will take place. New members will be welcomed. Children wait outside the door at R.H. Cornish Public School just before the bell rang to start the 1978 school year. It was the first day of school for many of <, the tykes, but it was hard to tell who was more concerned.....the kids, or the parents.
