Running Back Ron Ric- . hards was unstoppable as he scored four majors for the victors. Port Perry got on the board with a spectacular run by Running Back Brian Barr as he sped sixty yards down- field for the touchdown with 7:40 left in the game. Barr finished the day with 140 yards - rushing. He also punted very well as Coach Jerry Cole said 'if he had punted like that the other day we would have won". (In reference to Port's 6 to 6 draw with Ajax last week). Outside Linebacker Steve Nesbit led the defence with nine tackles. The only other bright spot for Port Perry was the ad- mirable spirit shown by the nine girl cheerleading squad captained by Lori Clark. The girls performed in adverse weather conditions and although often ridiculed deserve praise and respect for their fortitude and ab- ility. Assistant Coach Bruce Brandon took the loss in stride. "So much depends on the whims of any given day. On any given day any team in this league can beat any other," he stated. (Obvious- ly it was not Port Perry's day.) A tier system will soon be established and both coaches are hoping to enter the third tier.
