'Yelverton UCW meet by Mrs. Thora Gray The October meeting of Yelverton U.C.W. met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Allan Howe on Tuesday afternoon October 3rd with 14 mem- ebers present. Following the opening with the Ode, Mrs. Lawrence Staples convened the Devotional. Following the singing of the Hymn - "Come Ye Thankful people Come", the Scripture was read - a portion of 4 different Psalms. Vera read a timely poem on Thanksgiving. In ha®. topic she commented on o how in this country and continent we continue to waste and pollute while other countries are in such dire need. Joyce was pleasantly surprised to learn Sunday a.m. that she won the draw for a Portable T.V. Miss Valerie Malcolm attending Sheridan College in Oakville was home with her parents this weekend. Pleased to report that Mr. Roy Werry of Sudbury - a native son of Enniskillen is recuperating quite satisfac- torily following open heart surgery in Sudbury Memor- ial Hospital last week. Best wishes to Brother-in-law Roy for a continued speedy convalescence. Roy is the eldest son of Mr. Francis Werry of Enniskillen. Seagrave area news Continued The Crazy. Crunchers 4H Club is in full swing now and their next meeting takes place on October 18 at 6:30 p.m in Greenbank at the home of Mrs. Hunter. At the last meeting they were busy making a potato cheese chowder and two spreads made with peanut butter. Achievement day is to be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, December 2, tentatively at the Latcham Centre. Unit I of the U.C.W. will hold their monthly meeting on Monday, October 23 at 8 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Louella Kennedy. Don't forget the upcoming annual turkey supper at the Seagrave Church on Wednes- day, November 1! The Ladies Auxiliary of Scouting are planning a meeting on Wednesday, October 25 at 8 p.m. in the Seagrave Church. Mrs. Reta Boe recently travelled to Kingston to visit son Carl, and then went on to Connecticut to visit with grandson Brian who is at- tending Yale University.
