Port Perry Legion - 4 Oshawa Towers - 4 Oshawa took a three to nothing lead as they domi- nated most of the first period with goals by Dave Fischer from Glen Rowe, Chris Stead from Craig Macleod and Ken Sherban, and Ken Sherban scored from Wayne Haw: thorn. It was still 3-0 at the end of the second period. Then Port came to life with four straight goals in the third. Jim . Bryson scored from Ritchie Lefort and Willy Thorton. Maurice Van Veghel put Port ahead from Ritchie Lefort with one minute left in the game Peter Bathe tied it for Oshawa from Craig Mac- leod and Chris Griffen. Bantams defeat Fenelon Falls 7-3 by Todd Blayone It's always a boost to a team to win a season opener, and that's just what the Port Perry Beare Motors Ban- tams did last Wednesday night. They downed the Fenelon Falls club by a score of 7-3. Port started out with a Rob Burnett, and again the Fenelon Falls team scored to tie up the match. In the second period Port was not to be outwitted as they took a commanding lead by scoring three straight goals. Picking up goals in this period were Paul Storry with two and Todd Menzies - with one. Third period goals went to Paul Storry and Al Ferguson with assists going to Kevin Long and Todd Menzies. The boys played a very sluggish game. David Burnett scored late in the third period with assists from Mike Johnson and Craig Menzies. The final score 2-1 for Uxbridge. On Saturday, October 28th the Green Machine played the little NHL Major Bruins (exhibition) at the old arena. This turned out to be a scoring free for all with Port ending up on top 10-8. Scoring for Port were Craig Menzies with 3 goals and 2 assists, Dave Burnett with 3 goals and 1 assist, Bobbie Goble with 2 goals, Steven Durham and Lee Wilbur each had one goal. Mike Johnson, Jay Van defeat Beaverton 5-1 Camp, Chris Lane, Andy Systma. Tim Cannon and Greg Warriner each had an assist. | ' On Sunday the Malmont boys travelled to Beaverton. for a fast skating, hard hitting game and came home victors 5-1. Junior team coach Roy Clark described it as "the best game they played all } year, they came together as a team. They played very well."
