Cartwright school news by Anne Kristensen Taking place this weekend will be one of Cartwright High School's most impor- tant events. Not only will we be honouring the '78 Grad- uates but also the students who had promising acade- mic results. The Commence- ment Exercises for our school are unique and "untypical"'. This fact will be emphasized by the Glee Club's fine selections and the dramatic style put into the one act play. Everyone is welcome to come on Satur- day, November 11th at 8:00 to the Recreation Centre in Blackstock and support the students of the home town school. . October 27 was not Hallo- we'en but with the wide selection of zany hats on Hat Day it did raise a question of doubt. They ranged from 'Mortarboards to Bowler hats to Blue Jay caps to Arab veils. The most unusual hat was Mrs. Mason's helmet for the creature from Outer Space. To finish off the day we had the Sadie Hawkins Dance in the evening. There were a number of people out and the Students' Council reports that it was also quite profitable. Everyone agreed that the stage show put on by M.G. Disco was superb. The next dance is our Christmas dance being held December 8th. For this evening we are featuring "Frostbite" a very well- known group who have played here in Blackstock before.
