H.T.W.H. - Sharon Brear- SAAR S IE BES TF LERY ae at LE , FY JF : ' in PORT PERRY STAR -- Wed., November 27, 1978 -- 19 Busy week for midgets One loss, one tie and two victories by Bob Storry Grant Menzies Motors Midgets played three good exciting games in the Ban- croft tournament this past weekend. Saturday, November 24th Port dropped a close 4 to 3 decision to Keswick in their first game, with the winning goal being scored with only 2:54 remaining on the clock in the third period. After just over an hour's rest they were back on the ice against Stirling and had to settle for a 5 to 5 tie after missing a great scoring chance in the final seconds of the game. Sunday, November 25th they faced the host Bancroft team, who up to this point were undefeated in the tour- nament. Port played a solid two way game toearna3 to victory. 2 Cyl Bancroft with four points in this round robin tour- nament were matched against Stirling in the play- off. Stirling and Port had 3 points each, with Stirling advancing to the playoff on the basis of having a better "goals against average" than Port. Just a super team effort by the boys and con- tinued great support from their Team Spousors, par- ents, and fans who journeyed to Bancroft for the weekend. Friday, November 24th in a league game at Fenelon Falls, Port completely out classed the home team scoring a 6 to 1 victory.
