They were part of a larger group of about 300 students and teachers from ten high schools in the province, and the purpose of the visit November 22 was to give the students a chance to take part in a typical day of a student in the science faculty atthe Unversity of Waterloo. The students sat in on regular science lectures and took part in lab experiments. They were encouraged to ask questions and mix freely with the university students. Since Waterloo began this science day visiting program ten years ago, about 33,000 high school students from across Ontario have had the chance to spend a day on campus. The program will continue on Wednesdays in February and students from more than 100 high schools are expected to visit the campus this year.
