Baptists win fifth consecutive game by Danny Millar The Baptist church hockey team won their fifth game without a loss as they de- feated arch rival Fenelon Falls 4 to 1 on the two goal performances of captain John Michel. Michel opened the scoring at 17:29 on a beautifully set-up two-on-one break by center Dave Harris. Port Perry was a man short at the time. Some excellent goalten- ding by Fenelon's Chris McAleese kept the team in the game during the first two periods. Going into the final period the game had been a close checking game with relatively few scoring chances as Port Perry clung to a 1-0 lead. In the third period a power play goal by Fenelon Falls' Jeff Goodhand at the 2:14 mark tied the score. The game opened up exactly one minute later as Michel put Port ahead for good with his second goal of - the game. David Michel set up the third score as he carried the puck deep into the Fenelon zone, skated it out in front of the goal to Jan Rensink. Dave Harris, probably the most talented player in the league, scored the fourth and final Port Perry goal with just fifteen seconds left. .The Harris goal was a single handed effort as he won the face-off in his own zone and skated through the entire Fenelon unit and scored on McAleese. The same two teams go at it again next Saturday, December 16th at Manvers. around the net, and dumped CONTINUOUS FORMS available at the Port Perry Star 985-7383 Let us save you money on your TRANSMISSION REPAIRS Factory Trained Experts Genuine Factory Parts PORT PERRY CHRYSLER LTD.
